Stepping into the chapter house should be welcoming and inviting, and we believe that the spirit of home permeates the entire grounds. Our chapter house is a timeless bridge that connects each brother with those who walked these halls and stayed in these rooms before him. We invite you on a virtual tour of the house so you can see the historic physical structure and modern comforts of home. However, to truly feel the energy the house holds, you’ll need to step foot inside.

History & Renovations

The chapter house is a space that the brothers built. The historical structure of the original chapter house was built in 1849. Its companion “old administrative building” for the General Fraternity was initially constructed in 1859 and acquired by the Alpha Chapter from the General Fraternity in 1994. In 2018, the Forever Alpha Company raised over $4 million to fund and complete a $5.7 million renovation and expansion thanks to the generosity of our alumni and friends of Beta. This renovation connected the original chapter house and administrative building and provided for a total modernization of all facilities inside. All bathrooms, commercial kitchen, kitchenette, and dining room are fully updated. The entire premises enjoy a state-of-the-art heating and air conditioning system as well as new furnishings.

What sets chapter house life apart from the essential college living experience is the ample accommodations and incredible atmosphere. It’s a striking contrast to dorm life, which is often cramped, sterile, and fosters less than healthy choices. In the security and comfort of the chapter house, brothers are inspired to become the principled leaders they were meant to be true. Each resident has space and freedom to focus on academics and socialize on a schedule that makes sense for them.
