Alumni – Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at Miami University

Alumni Welcome

The Alpha Chapter has 1,769 living alumni who generously donate resources and maintain connections with the Beta brotherhood. We can never thank you enough, and the bond we share is family.

Your charitable giving enabled the historic renovation of our chapter house, which is better than ever! We think of you every day we relax, connect, learn, and play within its walls. But it’s your continued engagement and support that helps us be all we can. Since our return to Miami’s campus in 2017, it gives us purpose and strength.

We look forward to seeing you at our amazing alumni weekend events and keeping you updated through the Alpha Slants newsletter in both the fall and spring semesters. Stop by the house anytime, our doors are always open!

Get Involved

As an alumni member of Beta Theta Pi, there are many ways to reconnect with the chapter and get involved. For those who would like to interact with the active members more directly and work with other like-minded individuals, you could either volunteer your time to serve on the chapter advisory team or the Forever Alpha House Company. If you prefer to mentor an active brother on a 1:1 basis, then consider participating in the Alpha Mentorship Program (AMP). If you’re a business owner, company executive, human resources professional, or someone in charge of an internship program, then the Alpha Internship Program (AIP) is for you. However, if you don’t have the free time to engage in any of the options mentioned above, then please consider donating to the Alpha Chapter. Click on any of the links to learn more about each option.

The continuation of excellence at the Alpha Chapter is dependent on the involvement of active members and alumni support. Contributions from alumni help keep Alpha Chapter programs and initiatives working. We appreciate tax-deductible donations that aid in the continued success of each brother.

My fondest experiences at Miami and my lasting relationships are centered around the Alpha Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at Miami University. My Beta sweetheart, Gail '81, and Miami Merger enjoy many of these friendships together. My sophomore roommates at 200 East High Street were at our wedding and are lasting best friends. Our son is an Alpha Beta '08. Our experiences in some ways were different for him a generation later, but the fraternal bonds made are strong for our son too. Yes, it is extraordinary that he is a legacy. Still, more importantly, he experienced Beta's Men of Principle, leadership opportunities, and lasting brotherly friendships. Our daughter is an Alpha Beta sweetheart and Miami Merger with our son-in-law Alpha Beta '10. We are an Alpha Beta-Miami family who treasures our lasting Beta bonds. We also value making new Beta relationships. For me, Beta was a big part of my Oxford experience and continues to grow in many meaningful ways with alumni, actives, and their families. Love and Honor.

Calloway Robertson '81

Miami has been a special place for our family and relatives for nearly 70 years. Walking into the Beta house, the first night of rush as a freshman in 1979, I knew it was a special place with special people, and I wanted to be an art of that.

David Myers '82

I consider being an Alpha Beta, a pivotal cornerstone of my development as a young man. Coupled with my overall Miami experience, my Miami Merger/Pinmate/spouse/best friend wife, my experience as a US Army military intelligence officer, Beta was a hallmark foundation block that set me on a path for my entire life. The bond of a group of brothers, their influence, academic discipline, Greek culture, athletic, moral and scholarly pursuits, and social engagement provided me with the confidence and direction to enter my life's path most clearly... During my course of fraternal life in Oxford, Betas were the campus leaders, excellence in all aspects of Greek life, athletically, socially, academically, and morally. It was this sense of character and the influence of several upper-class Betas that led me to the house to begin with. I never considered another fraternity.

Jack Deyo '69

My years in the Beta House at 200 E. High were the best of my formative years. I watched, listened, and learned from the older brothers and grew along with my pledge brothers. We attained great success athletically, academically, and in the service to our school and community. It was a balanced, collective approach that I believe all young men would prosper from experiencing.
